Today i took my oath of office. This i declare and affirm! I still do not really see the point but whatever. I guess from now on i have to behave like an honest civil servant. No more office gossip. I really enjoyed the weekend! I have been pretty busy but the weather was just terrific! I'm feeling way better than last week. Despite the fact that i have a horrible cold, i'm coughing a lot and can't breath through my nose properly. It's my sister's birthday next week. Saturday i bought her some pressies. Put everything in a cute little basket. I hope she'll like it. Sunday i rode my bike. Just a short trip. Later that afternoon my grandparents came by. So did my aunt and uncle and we all sat in our garden and had a lovely time. Our dog really enjoyed the weather as well. I updated the Flickr. Check out my lucky clover. ![]()
I was tagged to do the following: The "Ten Facts" Meme. Once you've been tagged you have to write a blog entry with 10 weird, random facts, habits, or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 5 people to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment saying "You're it!"and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you. 1. My right feet is smaller than my left. That is why i'm always having a hard time buying shoes. I usually end up with a few blisters here and there. Ouch! 2. I have a thing for old photos. Especially the black and white ones. I would love to have my own family photo wall some day. 3. A dream of mine is to have my own walk-in closet. My colleague just bought a new place and is building one. He's really trying to make me jealous. And yes it's working. 4. I was called an 'exacting person' this weekend. Given the situation i felt it was really unfair. I was really upset and angry. It made me cry. 5. I feel misunderstood very often. 6. I went to visit our newest family member last Friday. My cousin gave birth to a very little boy. Cute and healthy. 7. I found out that i have something in common with my cousin's daughter, who's a year and a half. We both love Hello Kitty. 8. I haven't had a crush on a person in ages. 9. Last Thursday was Secretary's Day. I got a really nice bouquet of tulips and a box of chocolates. 10. I just did some yoga and i'm really hungry right now. I'm not going to tag anybody. Feel free to do this yourself.
Oh my god! I am so sick and tired of other people's misery! Does that make me a bad person?! I really can't stand all the whining. The sighing. People asking for attention. And when you tell them to go home (for their and your own sake) they pretend to be tough. But then there's more moaning and sighing and in the end they always leave earlier. If you're really sick please LEAVE! And if it's just a cold STOP WHINING! It's like people are so caught up in their own lives they don't care about anything else anymore. I have stuff going on but nobody fucking bothered to ask. And you know what? It's okay. I'm fine. It only makes me a stronger person. Like i said before, i realized once again how much my family means to me. I ain't no saint but i think it's a principle thing as well. My parents taught me to care. And by nature i'm a quiet person so i listen a lot to other people. I just think when you do speak your mind, it's a nice thing when other people care and remember. That's all. Now enough with the negativity. OH WOW right now there are about 30 marines walking by my window! Not bad at all! Anyway... A while ago i bought a pair of fake UGGs. I really fell in love with them. They are so comfy you wouldn't believe it! Since i really loved them so much i decided to buy the real ones. They are designed with double-faced sheepskin that will ease your feet with comfort. They keep your feet warm in winter and cool in summer. Looking online i very soon realized this was going to be a tough one. Too many fake sellers! I did a lot of research. So how do you recognize a cheap knock-off? Deckers, which has the boots manufactured in China, claims to own the style and the brand name. Australians claim the name to be generic for sheepskin boots, and thus impossible to trademark. This has led to the manufacturing of very similar boots in Australia, and these are the boots considered 'fakes'. The more expensive boots, made in China rather than Australia, are the ones considered 'real.' Deckers, UGGs Australia's parent company has their official factories in China. So the label must say "Made in China". Real UGG will have few Registered trademark symbols ® on its outsole whereas imitates lack this. Usually, the stitching quality and the finishing design of the fake uggs is very bad when compared to the real ones. Soles of fake uggs are extremely rigid while the soles of the real ones are highly flexible. Sometimes the fake fur seems to be slightly dull grey in colour. One can find UGG label on the back of the real ugg boots. The printing styles of letters on the label may differ or may have some gap in between the letters. In authentic boots, the letters will slightly overlap each other. The cost of real classic tall boots are at least $150. The shorter ones are about $120. I received my pair (Classic Chestnut tall) yesterday. Oh my, such wonderful boots! With the current dollar i got them for a pretty good price! Ordering from the States is great right now. Dear dear diary, sorry for abandoning you. I guess my mind has been somewhere else. I went to this workshop and this woman told me to be a little more adventurous. As if life itself isn't an adventure? As if everyday that goes by hasn't been another little adventure. ![]() What can i say about last week? Something bad happened but i made a promise i wouldn't talk about it. I realized again how much i love my family. When there's no one else, they are the ones you can depend on. They are going to be there for you no matter what happens. But fun stuff as well. We went out with a bunch of colleagues for drinks again. However when i was still sipping on my first glass of wine most of them were drinking their fourth beer. So quickly i became very sick and tired of everybody. Thank god, Big girl felt the same way and we left. We had a simple diner together. My treat. We had fun! We laugh so much, we really share the same humour. Call me naïve but it still amazes me that my married colleagues are so fucking interested in my private life. Go bother your wife! I mean what the fuck?! I was holding the exact same speech just when my boss came in. So he heard me shout the "What the fuck?!" in Tony-Soprano-Style. I think he was very amused by it. All those adventures. The workshop itself was okay though. I don't really feel as if i'm learning a lot though. I think as a group the teambuilding aspect is more important for us. Because i was the last to join the group (i started this job in November) i didn't have my own 'animal'. Apparently everybody has his own little wooden animal that the rest of the group picked out for you. It's all about naming a person's qualities and getting to know each other. They picked this cute little elephant for me. Elephants are smart and remember things. This one looked particularly happy, fashionable and colourful. Relaxed as if she found the right place. Especially the word 'colourful' came back a couple of times. I guess that's how my colleagues see me. What a nice compliment. Today i did some Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh. At home. With a DVD yeah.
Kundalini Yoga is sometimes called the Yoga of Awareness because it awakens the "kundalini" which is the unlimited potential that already exists within every human being. Practitioners believe that when the infinite potential energy is raised in the body it stimulates the higher centers, giving the individual enhanced intuition and mental clarity and creative potential. And once you've got that far, "you can sit silently and listen to yourself long enough to hear what your destiny is," Gurmukh says.
![]() We were told this week that every employee has to take an oath of office. Yeah i know, it made me laugh too. This oath of office is going to be our statement of integrity. Apparently our Manager reads the oath out loud and then you have to reply: "So help me God Almighty!" Unless you're not a religious person, like myself, and then you can say, "This i declare and affirm!" Lovely. Gotta love the life of a civil servant. I bet this gathering will be really really boring though. So i figured i could maybe spice things up a little bit. Creativity is never a bad thing right? So maybe when our Manager reads the oath out loud i could shout back, "This i declare and affirm! SO HELP ME JACK BAUER ALMIGHTY!" Mmm. Maybe... Uhm yeah and i think that would explain the new layout. ![]() Old colleague: Are you all by yourself today? Yeah i guess i'm known as the girl who drags along her pink gnome and Buddha everywhere she goes. My charm bracelet is finished! I really love it! I know those bead bracelets (Pandora for example) are really popular in Europe right now. But i think that's what makes my 1960's bracelet even more special!
Ugh so many meetings. The same story over and over again. Reorganisation. Blah blah. So anyway... I have been networking all over the place. For real! Once there was Facebook and Ciel became an addict. If that wasn't enough now i'm even on a Dutch version of Myspace. I actually found back some people i went to school with. I took lessons at the Academy of Dance for more than four years and even found a couple of students from that place. Reading all about them made me feel a little depressed at first though. Most of them have been travelling a lot. Some of them even moved to different countries. And a few of them are dancing for real companies. Pretty amazing. They also made me realize i miss dancing. I'm not sure what i'm going to do about that yet... Lucky clover is growing!
